When the sharks started flying last night all your usual entertainment sources were live tweeting in full force, as was NASA and NASCAR although we’d later learn that they were in on the joke too. But they weren’t the only brands to get in on the Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! action.
While channels like AMC and HBO aren’t infallible, they’ve got a decent enough track record to warrant at the very least casual interest in any new series announced. After all, you never know what’ll become the next Breaking Bad or The Wire. But that doesn’t mean you should limit your viewing to networks that can lay claim to having an Emmy award winning series.
A year ago when Halt and Catch Fire premiered I eagerly tuned in. A show about the 80s home computer boom sounded interesting and I loved Lee Pace in Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies. Plus, I don’t watch Mad Men (don’t hate, I can’t watch everything) so any comparisons to AMC’s flagship series, for better or worse, was kind of a moot point for me.
Today, Thursday May 28th marks the start of the 2015 NCAA Women’s College World Series of Softball (WCWS), and you should at some point over the next few days flip over to ESPN and watch some of it, or all of it.
