Michael Ausiello’s Gilmore Girls revival announcement earlier this week filled my heart with glee. The final season of the series left a lot to be desired and I think we can all agree that we want to know what those last four words are. Besides relishing in the thought of revisiting Stars Hollow, this news got me thinking about the general trend of rebooting, reviving, and saving TV shows.
As much as I believe in scheduling and strategizing when it comes to New York Comic Con, I also think it’s important to leave yourself time to just wander around. There is so much going on that it’s literally impossible to have it all planned out in advance.
Recently I bought the 3rd and final season of Happy Endings on DVD. I was hoping the show would find it’s way to Netflix or at the very least the price would drop on Amazon enough for me to be like, ‘it’s such a great deal, I can’t pass this up’. Neither event occurred, but the show ended over two years ago so I rationalized that I’d waited long enough to complete my set. So I ordered it.
In the coming weeks a new crop of TV shows will be released upon the world. Most will debut on the broadcast networks as they most commonly adhere to the traditional TV schedule. However, the Fall TV season isn’t exclusive to the standard channels. New TV can be found just about anywhere these days, and in fact the three new shows I’m most excited about are courtesy of Starz, Amazon, and Netflix.
