One quick glance at New York Comic Con’s 2017 panel schedule and you’ll find the usual tracks like Comics, Gaming, and TV, but also some additionally thought-provoking tracks like Anti-Bullying/Anti-Harassment, Diversity, and Well-being.
Another whirlwind weekend of New York Comic Con is in the books. For me, it was two full days of lines, panels, and free swag. So overall, I’d call the weekend a success. I made it into all the panels I wanted to (my strategy still works!), got to talk TV with some cool people, saw a lot of sneak peeks & “exclusive” trailers, and the weather couldn’t have been any better.
The 69th Emmy Awards aired last night, and it was a doozy. After last year’s wins for Tatiana Maslany and Rami Malek I didn’t think I could be more pleasantly surprised – I was wrong. For me, it was a satisfying show with wins going to Black Mirror, Big Little Lies, Donald Glover for Atlanta, Aziz Ansari and Lena Waithe for Master of None, and Sterling K. Brown for This is Us.
If you’re anything like me, you spend more time on Netflix trying to figure out what episode to watch than actually watching TV. This Presidential Election has been rather divisive, but I think we can all agree on one thing – it needs to be over. So after you cast your vote on Tuesday, why not take your mind off things with some TV. No, I’m not recommending you watch the 24-hour news cycle, I recommend checking out these election day-inspired episodes.
I love Halloween. It’s one of my favorite holidays, has been since I was a kid. Some of my fondest memories are coming home from a long afternoon of trick-or-treating and putting on It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown while my brother and I sat on the floor sorting, trading, and eating our latest haul of candy.
New York Comic Con 2016 is officially in the books. It was a whirlwind of early mornings, late nights, long lines, and lots of TV. From panels and virtual reality experiences to books and sneak peeks there was never a shortage of things to do and see. In my two days at NYCC I was able to catch nine panels and spend some time wandering the showroom floor. Here’s the highlights:
