“Peak TV” is not a myth. There’s a lot of damn fine shows to watch essentially all year round these days, which makes selecting these superlatives both easier and more difficult. I obviously can only watch so much, so there’s a hundred percent chance I’ve missed something or somethings. Thankfully the list below is completely subjective and doesn’t actually matter. So without further ado, here’s my picks for the best of 2016.
New York Comic Con 2016 is officially in the books. It was a whirlwind of early mornings, late nights, long lines, and lots of TV. From panels and virtual reality experiences to books and sneak peeks there was never a shortage of things to do and see. In my two days at NYCC I was able to catch nine panels and spend some time wandering the showroom floor. Here’s the highlights:
It’s been another busy year of watching TV. Some beloved shows bid adieu, some jumped the shark, others enjoyed a creative resurgence, and many new excellent shows were added to my watchlist. The way I see it, you’ve got two angles to approach a TV-themed Halloween costume. Either pick something so mainstream it’s impossible not to know what you are or pick something that looks cool without context but will be recognized by other fans.
