Kick Ass Stuntwomen on Television

With an abundance of superhero-based TV shows and other action series currently airing, more and more female characters are kicking ass and taking names. And behind every badass women, is another even more-badass women – their stunt double.

Here’s just a handful of the uniquely skilled women who frequently grace your TV screens without you ever knowing it:
 

Jessie Graff

You may know her from American Ninja Warrior, but Jessie Graff’s also doubled for a number of fierce women on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Supergirl, Chuck, Revenge, and more. According to her website, Graff has skills in flying trapeze, high falls, circus arts, wire work, diving, rock climbing, kung fu, motorcycles, and weapons just to name a few.

 

Alicia Vela-Bailey

Alicia Vela-Bailey has also worked in the Marvel television universe, not only doubling for Adrianne Palicki on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but also appearing as the Inhuman Alisha. She’s also been a stunt double on Agent Carter, Stichers, Revolution, Chuck, and more. According to IMDB, Vela-Bailey has studied dance, martial arts, and of course stunt work.

 

Lauren Mary Kim

Lauren Mary Kim also doubles on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., what can I say that show has a lot of kick ass female characters, but that’s not the only comic book show she’s worked on. She also doubles for Elodie Yung, who plays Elektra on the second season of Daredevil. Scorpion and Hawaii Five-0 are just two other TV series she’s done stunts for. According to her website, her skill set includes fire burns, wire work, air rams, martial art tricking, fight choreography, motorcycles, dirt biking, and aerial arts.

 

Bethany Levy

Bethany Levy seems to spend a lot of time on supernatural-based TV series as her IMDB credits include shows like Sleepy Hollow, Supergirl, Salem, Teen Wolf, The Librarians, and True Blood. Witches, werewolves, vampires, and headless horseman oh my!

 

Dejay Roestenberg

Dejay Roestenberg is the stunt double for Krysten Ritter on Jessica Jones so she’s clearly got a knack for selling super strength. Other TV stunt credits include Eye Candy, The Mysteries of Laura, The Following, Gotham, Person of Interest, Younger, Limitless, Orange is the New Black, and Daredevil.
