3 New Fall Shows I’m Most Excited About

New 2015 Fall TV Shows

In the coming weeks a new crop of TV shows will be released upon the world. Most will debut on the broadcast networks as they most commonly adhere to the traditional TV schedule. However, the Fall TV season isn’t exclusive to the standard channels. New TV can be found just about anywhere these days, and in fact the three new shows I’m most excited about are courtesy of Starz, Amazon, and Netflix.

Flesh and Bone

Where: Starz
When: November 8th 2015

Flesh and Bone draws a lot of comparisons to Black Swan, and while it’s on a premium channel, I’m not completely sure that the series is going to go that far down the psychological rabbit hole. But it looks dark and tense and it’s only a miniseries, which means the show should be able to easily maintain the high-stakes and drama throughout its run. Plus, after years of watching So You Think You Can Dance I’ve found myself more and more drawn to movies and TV shows set in the dance world. (RIP Bunheads.) Bonus reason to watch: Moira Walley-Beckett, the series creator, also worked on Breaking Bad.

The Man in the High Castle

Where: Amazon
When: November 20th 2015

Based on the book of the same name, The Man in the High Castle takes place in a world where Japan and Germany won World War II and the United States is occupied by both. I watched the first episode during Amazon’s pilot season, caught the second episode during an EW.com SDCC special steaming event, and I cannot wait for the rest to be released. I haven’t read the book so I can’t comment on whether or not it does the source material justice, but from what I’ve seen the characters are interesting and the world building is outstanding.

Jessica Jones

Where: Netflix
When: November 20th 2015

Jessica Jones is Marvel’s second of four Netflix series, which will ultimately build to the Defenders team-up. As someone who watches Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and Daredevil it’s basically a given that I’m going to watch this series. However, I’m not just going tuning in because ‘It’s All Connected’, Jessica Jones really sounds intriguing. If you’re asking yourself who the hell is Jessica Jones, I recommend watching this video or reading this article, both provide helpful backstory. In this incarnation, Krysten Ritter of Breaking Bad, Veronica Mars, and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 is set to play the titular character. David Tennant and Mike Colter are also set to star as Kilgrave and Like Cage.
